I was born to create. I fell in love with music when I could barely talk! I remember, as a child, wondering where those background vocals were coming from. And it was from this curiosity that made me want to know more about music and vocals.â€ Aside from self-learning, his first vocal coach was Jonifer Fashion. He taught Bruce how to use the gift God and given to him. He was also trained by the late, great, Mildred Brevard, who was his band teacher at Berkeley Middle School. Later, he went on to play the bass-clarinet during concert season, and the drums during marching band season at Berkeley High School under the direction of Mr. Powell, and Tim Miller. At this time he had also become the president of the Berkeley High Drama Club, under the direction of Mrs. Martin, his first Drama teacher. The late, great, Paula Johnson who also was among his trainers, taught him how to express himself effectively through speech and debate. And she stayed on him hard. Bruce attended South Carolina State University, where he became a member of the Marching 101, the best band in the land! He also became a member of the world famous Bongo Brothers, which is the drum, section for the Marching 101. Bruce is also a Henderson-Davis player where he was taught by Dr. Frank Mundy. Bruce is also a Producer, Singer, Songwriter, Actor, and Playwright. He calls his musical style: Spiritual Soul, which includes; Hip Hop, Soul, R&B, Rock, and Gospel. Bruce enjoys and is influenced by all types of music. Although he has a signature sound, he has been told he sounds somewhat like R. Kelly with that passion in his singing that can be felt and heard in R Kellyâ€™s music. He felt it an honor to have even just a little bit of such a phenomenal artist as R. Kelly. Bruce has starred in plays and has been nominated for the Black Essencesâ€™ award. Releasing two songs in two months on Moiko Records, the first is The Spiritual Soul Movement. Which is dedicated to the rebuilding of lives, for those who have lost, Dont Give Up He concludes with a Moiko Records Label Favorite, which he dedicates to all the struggling artists, because he believes that indeed, God is a God of Second Chances
